Life Long Jets FanI am one of the lucky ones. I never thought I’d say that about my parent’s divorce, but my mom remarried a life long, die hard Jet fan. My step dad Ed was a Jets season ticket holder from when they played in Shea Stadium going back to the 1966/Namath era. What a treat it was to listen to his stories about some of the games he witnessed. His experiences were amazing. He watched players today’s Jetfans only know as names of Jet lore; names like Namath, Maynard, Ewbank, Walker, Klecko, Lott, and McNeil come to mind. What always impressed me though was Ed’s knowledge of East Rutherford. If there was an accident or a traffic snarl, Ed knew how to get around it. If we were running late, Ed knew how to get there fast. He could get us to Rut’s Hut and in our mezzanine seats in less than an hour despite traffic, weather, and/or road conditions. Continue reading
